Abstract :
Based on the investigation of resonator phase shift, an analytical framework to compare the phase noise between two series LC quadrature voltage-controlled oscillators (QVCOs) is presented. The bottom- series QVCO is analytically demonstrated to have lower phase noise than the top-series QVCO. Simulation data show good agreement with the presented analysis.
