Abstract :
A multisensor track-initiation algorithm is proposed. The algorithm marries conventional gating approaches with log-likelihood-ratio test based data fusion methods and effectively deals with the missing measurement problem. The application of the proposed method to the low-elevation track initiation problem using shipboard radar and infrared sensors is discussed. Simulation results are presented that compare the performance of the proposed algorithm with that of the AND algorithm
