Abstract :
Hydrologic research prior to AgRISTARS had followed a rather defined path in which the knowledge curve with time resembles a staircase, rather than a constant incline. AgRISTARS did not introduce remote sensing to hydrology. Some aspects of land-cover analysis, snow area, and floodplain delineation were being studied. However, the concentrated effort of remote-sensing applications to hydrology did help add another step to the knowledge curve.
