Abstract :
A new diversity coding scheme using four transmit apertures, one receive aperture and two detectors is proposed for wireless optical communication with direct detection. Pilot symbols are inserted to the encoding information sequence. Simulations show that the scheme can yield a signal-to-noise ratio gain of 6 dB at 10-4 error probability.
