Abstract :
The linewidth requirement for CPFSK differential detection is evaluated. CPFSK modulation of DFB-LD is confirmed from the spectrum correlation between an output spectrum and calculated results. In a 1.55 ¿m 400 Mbit/s transmission experiment using a 290 km pure-silica-core fibre, average received optical power at a 10¿9 bit error rate is ¿49.9 dBm.
