Abstract :
An approximate form of Birkemeier´s anisotropic scattering function is developed. This Gaussian scattering model is meant to be used for interpreting the Doppler Spctra of signals taken from a forward scatter radar system equipped with a Rake receiver. The model offers advantages in extracting the anisotropy coefficient from the Doppler spectrum of the received signal.
