Abstract :
A compact optical isolator has been designed, with monomode optical fibre pigtails, for use at a wavelength of 1.3 μm. The device has an isolation of greater than 26 dB and a fibre-to-fibre insertion loss of 3.5 dB, and the return loss is better than 26 dB.
