Abstract :
Modulation of the output of a 0.633 ¿m laser demonstrates the linear Pockels response of a monolayer Langmuir-Blodgett film. DC-induced shifts in the surface plasmon resonance in an attenuated total reflection configuration are observed. The nonlinear susceptibility ¿(2) (-¿ ¿, 0) of the monolayer is estimated.
