Abstract :
This paper analyzes the magnetization distribution of magnetostatically coupled film edges in an external recorded bit field. The present theory, employing the curling model, shows that magnetostatic coupling brings about an extension of the magnetization-induced region and an increase in the magnetization inclination angle from the easy axis. The coupling effect is enhanced with decreases in gap length of coupled films. Magnetization distribution measurements by the micro-kerr method confirm the validity of the theoretical results.
