Abstract :
The power loss and the permeability in highly oriented Si-Fe sheets were studied in the thickness range 0.05-0.22 mm under uniaxial tensile stress. The power loss minima were observed at about 0.12 mm. With large tensile stress, the effect of reduction on power loss is remarkable. As the result of loss separation, it appeared that both hysteresis loss and eddy current loss decreased with large tensile stress. A singular phenomenon that the power loss decreased drastically at a certain thickness appeared in thickness dependence of the power loss. The permeability is fundamentally independent of thickness.
