  • Abstract
    The problem of wind reconstruction on the sea surface from scatterometer Ku-band or C-band data is considered. The authors consider a scatterometer with three beams (i.e. ERS-1) and process data points with three measurements or with two measurements (i.e. incomplete data). The procedure proposed reduces the problem of the wind vector field reconstruction to a sequence of global optimization problems solved with a stochastic global optimization algorithm. This reconstruction procedure appears to be very successful on simulated data or C-band data
