Abstract :
This paper describes a new structure for a magneto-resistive thin-film field sensor. It is made up of two long folded serpentine sensor elements with an overlay double-serpentine bias conductor which is shifted with respect to the sensor pattern. This achieves effective biassing from a square-wave drive current. The device is assessed both theoretically and experimentally and found to be acceptable as an earth´s field detector.
