Abstract :
A novel ring-based optical guided-wave resonator is proposed. The resonator has a free spectral range double that of a double-coupler ring resonator (DCRR) with the same radius of curvature. Moreover, it features higher transmission at resonance and better extinction ratio than a DCRR with the same values of finesse and waveguide propagation loss.
