Abstract :
A grating coupled-out beam with less than 0.7 deg divergence is electronically deflected by changing the lasing wavelength of a semiconductor laser diode with segmented electrodes. The clearly resolvable beam-switching in three directions is demonstrated with the present device. A further improvement in the divergence of the output beam is discussed.
