Abstract :
There has been renewed interest in pulse stuffing jitter because new multiplexer frame formats have to be designed for high-bit-rate optical fibre. The letter provides a simple derivation of the generalised pulse stuffing jitter formula, shown by Chow in 1973, for any phase change per pulse stuffing.
