  • Abstract
    Aberration of GRIN-rod lenses used in single-mode optical devices is analysed to the degree of third-order aberration. A valuable relationship is derived between the lens parameters and coupling efficiency of the devices. This relationship is very useful to evaluate and optimise optical device design.
