Abstract :
The best position for the rotation axis of the wobbling secondary mirror in a Cassegrain type of antenna is through the focal point of the main mirror: the prime focus. Compared to the usual situation, where the axis of rotation contains the vertex of the secondary mirror, this means a considerable improvement of beam quality, especially at large wobble angles.
