Abstract
An analytical method is developed for determining the eddy current density, magnitude and phase angle, in a non-magnetic cylinder of finite length excited by a three phase coaxial winding. This winding is considered to be made of a combination of axial and peripheral currents both of sinusoidal distribution. The length of the cylinder is equal or bigger than the length of the winding. The flux densities as well as the associated loss, both active and reactive are also determined. The analysis is three dimensional.
