Abstract
A high-quality, low-cost color video printer, using a sublimation thermal transfer system and featuring a new signal processing circuit and mechanical control system has been developed. The analog signal processing circuit corrects the thermal transient response, a feature unique to this printer, and a novel printing drive mechanism has been incorporated to provide good-quality, uniformly colored pictures. The results obtained with the printer have confirmed the effectiveness of the processing circuit. The mechanical drive control system has been shown to minimize printing dislocation and damage to the paper surface
