Abstract :
The preliminary results on the preparation and investigation of the two-layer fibres with the core and cladding from thallium halide (TlBr-TlCl) and caesium halide (CsBr-CsCl) single crystals are discussed. A considerable reduction of optical losses in the waveguides with cladding and coating in comparison with the unclad fibres is shown.
