Abstract :
We present an optical logic device which demonstrates hard-limiting of outputs and which has the potential for large fan-out and fast response. It consists of a waveguide modulator made from GaAs/AlGaAs multiple-quantum-well material and phototransistor, and exhibits a contrast in excess of 20.
