Abstract :
A method is presented for detection and identification of topological errors in online power system analysis. The method is based on a rule-based algorithm. The algorithm validates the changes in switch position using the information available in an energy management system (EMS). The temporal consistency of the analog measurements and switch positions is also used. The method has been tested in an actual EMS environment and has shown potential for use as a preprocessor or stand-alone method to be used in online power system analysis
