Abstract :
Filter design formulations simultaneously controlling both frequency and space-time behavior are considered for video applications. An FIR (finite impulse response) design tool addressing such formulations has been built using standard linear programming packages. The result has been quite satisfactory and the cost very reasonable both in terms of man-hours and required computational facilities. The construction of such a CAD (computer aided design) tool and its performance are described. A number of filter design examples are presented
