Abstract
We report on the fabrication of a passive Y-branch wavelength-division demultiplexer with InGaAsP/InP rib waveguides. The wavelength-selective elements are Bragg reflection gratings on top of the two output ribs of the branch. A channel spacing of 13.5 nm in the 1.5¿m region and a crosstalk attenuation of more than 18 dB for TE-polarised light were achieved.
