Abstract :
Field computation of electromagnetic devices involves the modeling of the exterior open boundary region. Discretization of the exterior region by finite differences or finite elements is cumbersome, uneconomical and computationally inefficient. A semi-analytic approach is described in this paper which combines closed form solution for the exterior region with a finite element T-Omega discretization of the interior region for axisymmetric geometries.
