Abstract :
The paper presents an analysis of an ozone generating system energized by a magnetic frequency tripler. On the basis of the proposed equivalent circuit of the ozonizer, which takes into consideration the nonlinear conductance of the discharge gap, the mathematical model of the system is formulated. This model, which consists of seven nonlinear first-order differential equations, has been solved numerically by means of the Gear algorithm and permits analysing all the various operating conditions of the system for a wide range of supply and load parameters. The derived operating characteristics of the tripler and ozonizer are in good agreement with experimental investigation of a practical system working in industry.
