Abstract :
The piezomagnetic modulus of a field-annealed amorphous metal ribbon has been investigated by measuring the stress-induced magnetization fluctuations. A well defined high frequency stress was applied to the ribbon by adhering it to a resonating piezoelectric plate and the resultant magnetization fluctuations were detected with a pick-up coil. Measurements were conducted over an applied field of 0 to ± 13 Oe. The experimental arrangement is also amenable to the measurement of the magnetic susceptibility.
