Abstract :
Error free frequency conversion over 500 GHz at bit rates from 1 to 10 Gbit/s is achieved in a semiconductor laser amplifier. The signal waveforms and BER performance indicate that the frequency converted signals are unaffected by the ultrafast conversion process
