Abstract :
An unconditionally unitary beam propagation method for solving the nonlinear nonparaxial TE equation or the nonlinear Helmholtz equation is presented for the first time. This method is based on an iterative selfconsistent two-step implicit central difference scheme, which makes it suitable for extension to nonlinear vector wave equations
