Abstract :
A resonator made of a YAG rod has been excited, in an extensional mode, by the capacitive effect. An alternating voltage was applied across a capacitor formed by one of the free metallised ends of the rod and a fixed metal plate placed at a short distance. A Q-factor of 1.9Ã106 was measured at the resonance frequency of 195.76 kHz.
