Abstract :
We have calculated the sensitivity and the power penalty of a PIN-(GaAs)FET receiver taking into account the flicker noise. We have also shown that the flicker noise affects the sensitivity over the whole range of bit rates, and also that the total input capacitance is an important parameter affecting the power penalty.
