Title :

Abstract :
Optical pulse propagation over more than 15,000 km was achieved using a re-entrant 75 km fibre loop and a non-generative repeater to balance the optical losses. At 150 Mbit/s data rate, the fibre-to-fibre gain of the repeater was 37 dB and the insertion penalty less than 0.3 dB.
