  • Abstract
The Hudson Valley transportation management center has begun permanent operations in a new state-of-the-art facility in Hawthorne, New York. Having the NYSP as a key partner in the Hudson Valley, TMC bridges the gap between theory and reality. NYSP personnel are specially trained in incident and emergency management. Maintaining an evenly balanced partnership ensures that engineering and enforcement expertise combine to produce powerful, effective management plans that use the best of both viewpoints. With the key stakeholders in place, the next requirements were a high-performance, reliable communications and information management network and a fault-tolerant advanced transportation management system and this led to the development of the Hudson Valley.
