Abstract
A simple and inexpensive method is presented for measuring periodic time intervals. The method is based on a statistical principle, allowing the use of primarily low-power CMOS to increase the accuracy at the expense of an increase in the measuring time. A statistical analysis of the accuracy is presented, and an application to length measurement is described
