Abstract :
Measurements were made of the electrical quality factor of a new type of sapphire-loaded superconducting cavity resonator. We report a Q-factor of 4.2 Ã 109 at 2.2 K and compare the temperature dependence of the Q to that of other superconductor-coated sapphire resonators.
