  • Abstract
The noise spectrum around 15.7343 kHz in the composite baseband, mainly caused by a high degree of ICPM (incidental carrier-phase modulation) in the transmitter and transmission system, randomly mistriggers BTSC multichannel TV sound decoder circuitry. A detector circuit is described which will accurately identify the proper signal, thus eliminating false detection signals. This is done by examining the frequency, amplitude, and time duration of a suspected pilot or SAP carrier signal
