Abstract
The DSR (Digital Satellite Radio) concept and its key IC are described. The DSR system delivers excellent audio quality, similar to that of the compact disk. The transmission standard and the equipment for the transmission have been proved in several lengthy field tests using the OTS, Intelsat V, and TDF 1 satellites. The system uses digital coding of the audio signals in conjunction with time-division multiplexing of all channels as well as 4-PSK (phase-shift keying) modulation. The receiving equipment is described in detail
