Abstract :
Analysis of the field distributions in a three-layer prolate spheroidal human body model for a loop antenna irradiation is described. The loop radiator is assumed to be placed symmetrically with respect to the spheroid axis. Spheroidal wave functions are employed to expand the field components inside and outside of the prolate spheroid. The boundary conditions on the interface layers are satisfied by using a mode matching procedure. The loop radiator can be very close to the human body. Numerical results are given for the 13 MHz frequency.
