Abstract :
Multielectrode DFB LDs, which have a flat frequency-modulation response ranging from 50 kHz to 500 MHz and a minimum spectral linewidth of 4.5 MHz, are developed. A 2 Gbit/s optical CPFSK 202 km transmission experiment is conducted using the newly developed LD without optical feedback.
