Abstract :
The electromagnetic field of an arbitrary current density distribution parallel to the distinguished axis of a gyrotropic medium is represented in terms of one scalar superpotential. The fourth-order partial differential equation for the superpotential is solved for some special forms of the impressed current density distribution.
