Abstract

The development and evaluation of a prototype Telematique Home-Bus System are described. The system contains various communication terminals realized by network terminations (NT) provided with multi-serve switcher (MSS) functions and terminal adaptors (TA) for data communication. The system features and configuration, hardware design, and software implementation are described. The NT and TA were evaluated for three types of terminals, i.e. personal computer with V.27ter modem, G3 facsimile, and telephones. The effectiveness of the Telematique HBS and the NT and TA was found to be satisfactory
