Abstract
It is shown that appropriately chosen preconditioners can significantly improve the convergence rate of the conjugate gradient (CG) algorithm as applied to electromagnetic problems. Preconditioners are constructed for the problems of scattering from frequency selective surfaces and scattering from infinite cylinders.
