Abstract :
The physical optics approximation is used to evaluate the backseattering radar cross section of a semi-infinite metallic elliptic cone. The resulting formula can be directly interpreted as a generalization Of the well-known formula for the baekscattering cross section of a circular cone. In addition the bistatic radar cross section of the elliptic cone is calculated.
