Abstract :
A new postdetection processing technique to achieve lock-mode frame synchronisation is described. The method is based on a combination of the minimum-error principle and the conventional window technique. Compared with the performance of existing frame synchronisers the new technique is shown to produce an increased unique-word detection probability and a reduced false alarm probability.
