Abstract :
Two-dimensional (2-D) filters are generally realized as digital filters with the intention of operating on discretized 2-D data. The author claims that to filter directly 2-D analog data, such as television images, a 2-D analog filter would prove to be more adequate. A hardware realization of a 2-D analog filter requiring only the use of analog devices and line delays is proposed. Raster-scanned images are assumed as input to the filter
