Abstract :
A detailed experimental study of room-temperature magnetoelastic attenuation of L -band longitudinal phonons in obliquely magnetized [100] YIG rods is presented. Magnetoelastic anisotropy, internal magnetic field inhomogeneity, and nonsaturation effects are evidenced. The experimental results obtained are interpreted on the basis of existing theories and proposed interaction models.
