Abstract :
A discussion of the step edge model and the zero crossings of edge detectors is provided to justify the authors´ previous analysis (see ibid., vol. 12, p.1186-1189) of the localization performance error. It is shown that the previous analysis is consistent with its assumptions. The exact solution to the zero crossing density of the edge detection filter is also provided
