Abstract :
A new simple operational method for the determination of the diffracted far field for wedges with impedance boundary conditions is presented. The exterior angle of the wedge is

, where

is an integer. The excitation may be either an incident plane wave or a line source. The method is described in detail for the case of an absorbing wedge with a line source located at the tip. Several examples are given to illustrate the method. It is also shown that the method can be applied directly to the classical problem of perfectly conducting wedges.
