The problem of a stratified lossy plasma subjected to a steady magnetic field is considered. The plasma consists of (

) homogeneous layers with arbitrary thicknesses. An arbitrarily polarized plane wave originating in the free space is incident normally on the plasma. Expressions are derived relating the components of the reflected wave and the transmitted wave to the incident wave. The analyses are carried out for the cases when there is no coupling between the ordinary and the extraordinary waves at the interfaces, i.e., when the steady magnetic field is either in the plane of the interface or perpendicular to it. The derived results are written in form suitable for digital machine calculations.
