Abstract :
A theory of the general artificial electric line circuit, including the T-and ??-lines as its special case, is here laid down. This theory is applied to the determination of a simple method for designing a compensated ??-type artificial electric line whose electrical characteristics can be more closely approximated to the actual uniform line than a common T-line or ??-line, when required to work, not at a single frequency, but over a definite range of frequencies.
